Common types of policies available to homeowners:
- Actual Cash Value (ACV) - your entire claim will not be covered by your insurance company. Under this type of policy, you will be expected to pay your deductible and the depreciated amount will not be reimburssed at the end of your claim.
- Replacement Value Policy (RVP) - your insurance company will pay your entire claim except the deductible. The deductible refers to the dollar portion of the claim that the claimant is legally responsible to pay in each claim. It is extremely rare for an insurance company to pay the claimants' deductible.
